Speaking about English, we; the Malaysian are proud to say that we are at least bilingual. We have our mother's tongue; Bahasa Melayu and English as our second language. English has been used widely not just in learning but also (or especially) in business formalities.
We can say that most whose graduated from universities can speak and understand English well. Or at least, they can understand.
The Norm, once we graduated and working among colleagues that does not practice English we tends to neglect the language especially in government sectors. Some may see English are just for corporate level. Little that they know English is far more than just for business. It is for self development, knowledge and yes, for business formalities.
