English for Executives?

Most of us learnt English formally in our school days. So, how long have 'that time' passed? 5?7? or perhaps 20 years back? As we step into our working life, we will just use our 'regular English' without bothering the suitability to our career scope.

English has been our secondary must-have language to all Malaysian. Most of our manuals, job scopes, seminars, conference and meetings are held in English. 

To be able to understand and comprehend English conversations is very crucial to every staffs. To reply or to initiate conversations is another thing. The thought that, "They can understand mixed language" has limits the importance of English among employees. 

The manuals, the one that they refer is always in English and it is very important for them to at least be able to read and understands it. Having another person to translate and explain to them each time will costs your time and yes, higher the risk chances if the 'translator' is not present.

These are few situations that most companies left out at the corner as they hustling more to profit rather than a long term efficiency.

It's time for employers to realize this bitter truth and start allocate budgets for language training for the employees.
